Richard M planned the Harkerville Forest Adventure as part of his Explorer Badge. Our Group met at the Harkerville Forest Camp and after supper we went on an amazing night hike. When we got back to base camp, our senior Scouts set up a rope trail, which lead deep into the forest. We followed the trail without torches and there was a surprise waiting at the end of the trail.....

Gilford Rock Show

Matt P's Rock Show at Gilford Campsite was brilliant and we all learnt a lot about Scouting! Each Patrol had to clear their campsite and then light a fire without using matches! After cooking Hot Dogs, the Patrols presented skits using puppets made from stones, sticks and all types of weird things! The Camp Fire was massive and the songs rocked. Oh Yeah!

Gilford Goes to church

Team Gilford visited the Vineyard church on Sunday 5 June and everyone had a great time. The service started with a sing along to the music played by the church musicians. It was a very interesting sermon by Pastor James and we really enjoyed it. Badger will keep us informed of where we will be having our next meet.

The Great Cook Off was a blast. The three Scouts teams competed against each other to impress the judges with their cooking talents. The judges were Stingray & Swallow, Panther & Ladybird, and Bulgiera & Matt P. Points were awarded for the table layout, the menu and presentation. The overall score was so close that in the end all three teams were the winners.

Menus were as follows:

Roxy's Team - Served Bulgiera & Matt P

Richard M's Team - Served Stingray & Swallow

The judges were served by each teams waiters and  the meals were enjoyed by candle light and to the sounds of violin music. Well done guys!
