Cubs at the Big Tree

Little Cubbies, Little Cubbies Where have you been?

The cubs first outing was to the big tree on the Nekkies Road. We all met at the Scout hall at 9:00am Saturday morning where we assembled the cubs. The trip full of fun as the cubs weren't too sure where we were going and kept on guessing different places. When we reached the picnic spot the cubs were introduced to the 2 Scouts that would assist for the day. Jerome and Aldo. After an opening ceremony the cubs were given time with their scout assistant to make their own cub den, there after they were taught how to make kites, bake bread on a stick and grill their boerewors sosaties. After lunch, they enjoyed a walk to the big tree and had to identify different animal prints in the sand. The afternoon ended off with a quick game of touch rugby and a few skits. Great fun was had by the cubs, the scout assistants, Akela, Baloo, Bagheera, Sunbird and Panther.
